Best Emerging Talent

Well, I wasn’t actually the best, but I was nominated for the award! Back in March, 2019, I was nominated for the Ozflix Best Emerging Talent Award for independent films. I was incredibly excited and honoured to receive this nomination for my role in ‘Trench‘.

Trench‘ was made a few years back by the incredible team at Cinema Viscera: Paul Anthony Nelson and Perri Cummings. We had our official launch in 2018 as part of the Setting Sun Film Festival in Yarraville.

You can check out the ‘Trench’ trailer here.

I was nominated for the Best Emerging Talent award alongside some incredible people, including the wonderful Deanna Ortuso, who was recognised for her work in Just Between Us, which I was also fortunate enough to have a small role in.

But the award was won by Rafferty Grierson, for ‘The Merger’ which looks like a great film – definitely a funny one to check out. On the night, I was asked to present an award alongside Nathaniel Dean, who was a really lovely, warm person; very professional and humble. It was such a great experience!
